Who stays here?

The Centro - Being consciously different cultivates new consciousness... Whoever holidays for the first time at the Centro de Terapia Antroposófica (Centre of Anthroposophical Therapy) or at the Finca (Farm), and who may yet have had hardly if any contact with the Anthroposophical Movement, may at first miss certain things that one may otherwise be used to at other holiday venues: Telephone and television in the rooms, fitness centre and active entertainment for young and old, a pool bar with music, etc. You will not find these things here – and quite intentionally so! The fundamental idea behind the Centro has always been, as our name suggests, creating a therapy center based on anthroposophical principles, where those in need of recovery and convalescence can find peace and rebuild their forces again. Television and telephone, for instance, work somewhat counter to these building-up processes. Recovery and regeneration should ideally not be a passive process filled with all sorts of diversions and distractions, but rather it should be an active one of coming to oneself. Nonetheless we are indeed also a holiday resort to which families and children are naturally most welcome. However, we do not offer electronic media entertainment of any kind, as we are of the conviction that film and television may more often than not affect childhood development in harmful ways, in stifling their imagination and exposing them to questionable content. Apart from the range of medical and therapeutic activities on offer, there is also a full range of other ‘inner wellness’ events for adults through artistic activity: Painting, Workshops; and instead of ‘entertainment’, a cultural programme of the most varied soul enriching events including lectures, concerts, discussion groups, etc. Being consciously ‘different’ naturally penetrates our other levels of working too, where we ever strive to cultivate and nurture an environmental awareness combined with social responsibility within the parameters of the given legal possibilities on Lanzarote.

What to do here?

The Anthroposophical Center on Lanzarote is much more than an ordinary tourist accommodation, it is a meeting place where you can switch off from everyday stress in order to reconnect with yourself and the world around you. The outside area of the center is very spacious with all kinds of plants, butterflies and birds, where nature invites you to rest and peace; this is also supported by the fact that there is no TV in the room or piped music at a pool bar. Our organic shop is open 6 days a week, the restaurant is characterized by the mainly vegetarian gastronomic offer and is a place to meet. The cultural offer is broad: from various painting techniques, clay modeling, origami, concerts, hikes, seminars up to excursions to our organic Farm “Finca Lomos Altos” with various workshops, e.g. preparation of aloe vera gel. We also focus on health and well-being through our therapeutic offer, which is carried out by our professional experts in the therapy house. In addition to the two outdoor pools, we have a therapeutic indoor salt water pool at 34 ° C, which is very beneficial for relaxation and health. Most of our employees have been working in the Centro for decades and their loving and professional nature ensures comprehensive care for our guests. Appreciation and humanity is an essential part of our community and philosophy.
