Our Story
3 Sisters Adventure Trekking
3 Sisters Adventure Trekking is a profit business. It was established in 1994 for the solo women trekkers in Nepal. The company is pioneer in introducing female trekking guide in Nepal. Its mission is to economically empower disadvantages women through adventure tourism and sports. Together with the sister organization, Empowering Women of Nepal EWN, we train women to be a female trekking guide. Our mission is to make women self-sufficient, decision making and economically empowered. The organization educate, employee and create a platform for women to work in a decent job. The entire program organized by EWN is free for the Nepali women. 3 Sisters Adventure trekking company donates 15% of yearly profit to EWN for its program. 3 Sisters Adventure trekking organizes trekking tours in Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet. It encourages women to enter into the tourism sector and have introduced female guiding as a decent professional job in Nepal.

Creating a business such as this is not an easy task, especially in the male dominated society of Nepal. As business women, we are constantly struggling to overcome resistance from society in general. Our aim is to uplift and empower the women and supply them with the tools needed to become self-supportive, independent, decision-making women. This project is an essential aspect of our ability to help the Nepalese women and empower the women of Nepal but the potential jewels at the end are so great it must be traveled. In addition to the trekking agency, we also run a comfortable clean guesthouse overlooking the picturesque Fewal Lake.
To discover the secrets of the Himalayas in the company of other women is a special and memorable experience. We concentrate on exploring the mountains and enjoying all they have to offer rather than conquering them. The enjoyment of the journey itself is as great as the sense of achievement upon reaching the destination. Our aim is to share knowledge of the flora, fauna and local village life, enhancing the experience and leaving our guests with a better understanding of life in the Himalayas. We do not bring stop watches in our back packs, ….we bring time….time to stop and smell the mountain flowers, time to watch the monkeys playing in the trees, the eagles soaring in the sky, time to really enjoy all the sights and sounds of a foreign land.
