Most of our guests use the Inn as a base from which to explore the many attractions in Camden and other locales along the rugged, beautiful Mid-Coast of Maine. They most frequently enjoy hiking the mountainous trails in the adjacent state park, taking sailing cruises on majestic schooners in Penobscot Bay, visiting several nearby lighthouses, meandering through art museums and galleries, shopping in Camden’s many fine stores, and enjoying the fare at local lobster shacks and fine dining establishments. At night, they return to the Inn for a restful sleep followed by a gourmet, locally sourced breakfast the next morning.

Our Story
Camden Maine Stay Inn
The Camden Maine Stay Inn is a historic bed and breakfast inn in Camden, Maine, that is open for year-round enjoyment. We are widely and appreciably known for our elegant, romantic setting and relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The Inn is located in the Historic District of Camden, often referred to as the Jewel of the Maine Coast and one of the most beautiful seaside villages in America. The Inn was built in 1802, has been meticulously maintained ever since, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Each beautiful, romantic guest room in the Inn has its own distinctive character. Many rooms have original wide-plank wood floors and gas-log fireplaces and stoves. Guests socialize in our living room and sun porch, play and listen to our antique Steinway grand piano in the piano room, and relax in front of the fireplace and watch their favorite show on the TV in our den. We serve a full gourmet breakfast each morning and place a significant emphasis on using locally sourced, fresh foods. We have delicious homemade cookies as well as coffee and tea available in the kitchen every afternoon and evening. Guests enjoy our beautiful, spacious garden, complete with walking paths, sitting areas and a mountain stream. The Inn is only a four-minute stroll to Camden's gorgeous harbor and quaint downtown with easy access to Camden's many fine shops and excellent restaurants.
