Mattawa Voyageur Days The Voyageur Days weekend is one of our busiest of the year. It falls always on the last weekend of July. For four days Mattawa hosts a crowd of music lovers and festival junkies. Each night there is live music and each day there are vendors, performers, and competitions to engage the eclectic interest. From kids playgrounds, to a canoe race. From Classic Rock, to Contemporary Country. The VMUTS are designed and maintained for several distinct uses: Horseback riding ATVing 4 Wheeling (Jeeps, trucks, etc.) Mountain Biking Dirt Biking Cleared camp-sites along the trail. Restaurant is OPEN! Nothing is worse than traveling on an empty stomach! Valois’ is perfectly located on Highway 17 in Mattawa to be your mid-trip rest stop. From Sudbury to Ottawa, our food and location have been a reliable haven for many faithful travelers over the years. You can count on a full meal with breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus that give you plenty of choice. Take your time to enjoy the scenery as well as the flavours. Hunting Mattawa is the neighbour to some of the best hunting grounds found in North America. Contained within the grounds is a special area just for hunting. Many different game to choose from including Moose, Bear, Duck, Partridge and Rabbit. Cook your catch here on our campgrounds or take it home for a special family meal. Ski at Antoine Mountain One of Ontario’s highest mountains with a true vertical of 630 feet. The scenic setting and historic location lends itself to development as a small ski town. Incredible views from the peak are sensational in every direction providing a spectacular landscape to support physical activities such as skiing, snowboarding, snow-shoeing, snow-mobiling, mountain biking, rock climbing, ATVing and many more. These outdoor activities encourage participation in physical activity and community-building from people of all ages and segments of society. Fishing Cast Your Line And Take Your Pick Put a line in from our docks, or venture deeper to barely touched lakes. The experienced anglers can almost pick and choose which type of fish they want to go home with in a day. All kinds of pike, walleye, trout, bass, and even Muskie inhabit our waters. Family adventures benefit from the diversity as well. Gentle waters and ample fish mean great pictures and memorable moments. SNOWMOBILE The groomed OFSC snowmobile “A”-trails are located right across the street. You can also bring your ATV’s and enjoy a big meal after playing for the day on our incredible trail system.
