Did you know each year Vietnam faces a shortage of more than 40,000 tour guides? Additionally, current tourism schools churn out only 15,000 graduates each year, a significant shortfall. This labour supply gap is clearly seen in the growing shortage of qualified tour guides. 5 years ago there were roughly 1.6 licensed tour guides per 1,000 international visitors, but this ratio has fallen by half in recent years. How do we solve this problem? Technology has enabled us to find - what we call - local buddies in truly remote areas throughout Vietnam. These buddies range from professional tour guides to personal assistants for business travellers. And the best thing is we have enabled them to connect to the millions of travellers via an online platform. Tubudd is building a community of like-minded language enthusiasts that have a passion for sharing their local knowledge. We also encourage our customers to leave reviews for the buddies to improve their reputation.
