We have toured all kinds of travelers from every continent on earth. Families and couples have visited multiple times to see new additions to the museum. If you love the ocean, art, and recycling then you will love the Dolphin House Museum. Our guests must be able to safely climb stairs.
Visitors are encouraged to take all the videos and pictures they like of recycled and artistic ocean-inspired walls and ceilings that are covered with mosaics dolphins, conch shells, mermaids, and much more. Our Beacon of Hope lighthouse on the rooftop offers some of the best views of Bimini and its stunning waters. We have an island-style gift shop and mini-museum that has a Hemingway library, old artifacts, photographs, and international currencies from our visitors. It's impossible to see everything on display during your first visit.
Our Story
A Bahamian national treasure and landmark, established in 1993 and still under construction to complete the third floor, the Dolphin House Museum a “Poem In Stone” is a dolphin and ocean-inspired museum and residence built by hand over the last 28 years using recycled, salvaged, and donated materials by award-winning Bahamian author, historian, retired teacher, and local Biminite Ashley Saunders. Visitors of the DH will enjoy walking tours conducted by Mr. Saunders, who has written two history books on Bimini’s archipelago available for purchase at the museum's island-style souvenir shop The Shabby Chic Boutique. The DH is Bimini's most unique and artistic structure inspired by Mr. Saunders swimming with a pod of wild Bimini dolphins. “I consider myself a dolphin inspired artist, the dolphins touched my heart and made me an artist.” - Ashley Saunders
