NEPAL Pokhara Begnas Lake

Need to know

Getting here

The Begnas Lake Resort does not have any direct road access, which is why it is such a great place to relax. To get to the resort, you either have to take a 20 minute row-boat ride(complimentary for our guests) from Begnas Bazaar or a 10 minute walk through the forest from the village of Sundari Danda. The closest Airport is the domestic Airport at Pokhara which is 12 kilometres and it takes 30-45 minutes to get there depending on how you want to travel. The closest International Airport is in Kathmandu which is approximately 200 kilometres away. Driving from Kathmandu takes around 5 hours. Alternatively you can take a 25 minute flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara.

Reception

Our reception is fully open from 6 in the morning till 10 at night. At night, one of our security guards is always near reception and all calls to reception are diverted to our Resident Manager.

Food & Drink

We have a varied menu in order to suit all our guests. A lot of our clients love fresh fish from the lake served with fresh vegetables from our organic garden. We have an Ayurveda menu and dedicated chef. All the food there is locally sourced and cooked using traditional methods. We also have an in-house bakery and our coffee is from a nearby plantation.

Laundry

We have complete laundry service, with clothes returned to you within 24 hours and often quicker. We do not have an in-house dry-cleaning service, but are happy to take your clothes to Pokhara to get them cleaned. That normally takes 2 days as the clothes need to be dropped off and then fetched the next day.

Getting around town

The Begnas Lake Resort is surrounded by trails that are ideal for hiking and trail-running. We also have mountain bikes and a motorcycle for hire. If clients want to drive to Pokhara or further afield, we have our own vehicles and chauffeurs who can take you wherever you like.

Begnas Lake Resort's team
Our team

Our medium-sized team comprises mostly of locals from surrounding villages and a large number have been with us right from when we started over twenty years ago. Needless to say this makes for very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate staff that are always out to give our guests the best experience possible.

Activities

What to do while you're here

The resort is located at the very end of the "Royal Trek" trail, so named after Prince Charles' first hike in the area. There are plenty of wonderful village walks or more challenging hikes that you could set off for on your won or be escorted by a guide from the resort. A lot of our clients also like wild swimming in the spring-fed Begnas Lake after their walks. Mountain bikes and off-road motorbikes are also available for hire at the resort for the more adventurous and those looking for an adrenaline rush! The swimming pool is spring-fed and completely chemical-free. Use the Spa facilities, herbal-oil massages, Ayurvedic Treatments and practice Yoga by the lake to rejuvenate your mind, body and soul. The resort can also help organise activities such as paragliding, hot-air ballooning as well as micro-light flights. The resort also caters for seminars and meetings with a Seminar Hall which can comfortably accommodate 60 people and is ideal for workshops and small conferences.
