What to do while you're here
Albury is a beautiful historic city with a country vibe. The Botanic Gardens are a 15 minute walk from the motel. Monument Hill - a steep walk but worth it (or drive) gives a birds eye view of the city and the surrounding hills, there is another lookout on the Eastern side of the town. Hume Dam - a 15 minute drive to the lake - very scenic. Wonga Wetlands and the Yindyamarra Sculpture walk, along with the Horseshoe Lagoon track are great for walking or bike-riding. The bird life is fantastic so don't forget your camera! Morgan's Lookout is well worth the drive (approximately 35 minutes) to view and climb these amazing boulders with a glimpse of the longest creek in the Southern Hemisphere, Billabong Creek. Albury also has markets over the weekends, fantastic dining, great pub and club life and awesome coffee hubs. There are several golf courses nearby or within a short drive. The Murray River is a beautiful scenic resting place with a great cafe, children's playgrounds, birdlife, swimming complex and canoe hire. There is horse-racing and several vintage car club rallies during the year, along with big-name concerts and festivals.
