Getting here

Fogo Island is in central Newfoundland and can be reached by taking Route 330 north from Gander to the ferry service that runs from Farewell (via Route 331 and 335). The ferry sails visitors to Change Islands in 25 minutes, while the crossing from Farewell to Fogo Island is approximately 50 minutes. Please check the ferry schedule in advance, as weather can postpone sailings.

Reception

There will be limited contact during your stay. However, you can call or text us anytime if you have any questions or concerns. The day of your reservation there will be a personalized code for your door that only you will have so you can make yourself at home anytime after our 2:00 check-in time.

Food & Drink

There are serval restaurants on Fogo Island, something for everyone. On the app (Discover Fogo Island), which you can down load while staying on Fogo, you will find all the places to eat and drink and their locations. It will be very helpful in planning your visit with us!

Laundry

There is a laundry room on site. We just require notice before allowing access.

Getting around town

There is a very detailed map of Fogo Island in each cottage which is yours to keep. Also, there is a app (Discover Fogo Island) that you can down load while staying on Fogo. Kim Holmes and Kayla Shea are joint owners of Escape by the Sea. Sisters-in-law and best friends, the two began Escape by the Sea as a nightly-cottage rental to fill a gap in the island’s tourism industry.
