Willow Creek Horse B&B's team
Our team

Willow Creek has only a two-person team, just enough to run a BnB on the second floor of the old farmhouse. People often comment that it's like visiting at grandma's house. Grandma is proprietor Lyndall Shick, and the second team member is her helper Ray. We do OK for a couple of old-timers!

Meet the Team

Ray Rufener from Willow Creek Horse B&B

Ray Rufener

Ranch foreman, chief cook and bottle washer

Real handy with stock and maintenance. Heck of a nice old guy, has own teeth and isn't fat. Hates to travel. You'll probably never see him.

Lyndall Shick from Willow Creek Horse B&B

Lyndall Shick

Proprietor, Boss Mare.

Friendly grandma type, good sense of humor, tends towards Rubinesque proportions. Loves most all animals. Travels only when necessary.

Activities

What to do while you're here

Willow Creek is perfect for both the energetic outdoor enthusiast as well as quiet folk who want personal time to read, write and reflect. This northeast corner of Oregon has many small towns which offer their own festivals, round-ups, markets, car shows, flea markets and musical events. There are numerous restaurants, some featuring local brews. Union County Chamber of Commerce offers several free visitors' guides online and in print. The best things to do during your stay depends on who you are and what you like. Here are some: attend a live theater production at the Elgin Opera House, take a themed excursion on a train, go mountain biking, ride your own horse in new places, join a jam session at the Summerville Tavern, go hiking, backpacking, fishing or hunting, or have a BBQ in the yard.
