Need to know
There are several ways to get to Koh Tao. The fastest and easiest way to Koh Tao is to fly directly to Koh Samui... There are hourly flights in and out of Samui daily. It is a good idea to arrive as ealy as possible to Koh Samui, to allow transport time to the ferry, and maybe have a bite to eat. From Koh Samui both the Lomprayha, and the SeaTran ferris are good options to gets to Koh Tao, with each having three (sometimes more) departures each day, morning and early afternoon, and another departure in the later afternoon. The SeaTran is very conveniently located close to the airport for the fastest transfer to and from the airport. The SeaTran ferry boat Koh Samui phone number is: Tel : (66) 077 246 086-8, the Bangkok number is 026292833. The phone number for the Lomprayha catamaran ferry Co. Koh Samui is 077427765 , Bangkok number is +66(0)878907766, Lomprayah Chumphon is 0819565644, and Lomprayah Koh Tao is 077456176... Two more ways to Koh Tao from Bangkok are the sleeper train to Chumphon, I recommend either the first class cabin, or the second class sleeper car (Lower berths are best!)... This is a fun and less expensive option, but requires you to wake up at about 5:00AM to depart the train once you reach Chumphon... It is also possible, but I don't recommend to fly into Chumphon or Surathani, as there is much more difficulty in getting from the airports to the ferries. There are also daily joint bus/ferry boat tickets from Bangkok each day, also through the Lomprayah ferry Co.... They run pretty nice, comfortable coaches with only one stop for a meal along the way to Koh Tao. This is the least expensive option, and sometimes the most convenient. I often refer our guests to a local travel agent called FameTour (http://www.chumphon-kohtao.com), who can arrange all manner of transport and accommodation in Thailand and abroad. There are fast commuter flights to Chumphon, then the two hour Ferry boat ride to Koh Tao. I hope that helps... It is my pleasure to answer your questions, please let me know if I can help in any other way!

It is our goal to exceed your expectations and to help make your holiday experience the best and most fun possible! We offer free (or a small tip to your driver) courtesy pick-up and drop-off service (to anywhere you would like to go on Koh Tao!) during your entire stay, so it will be our pleasure to pick you up when you arrive on Koh Tao. Please let us know which boat you will be arriving on, the Lomprayah, the SeaTran, or the SongSerm (each boat arrives at a different pier on Koh Tao), and from when, and from where you are departing, Koh Samui/Koh Pha-ngan, or Chumphon... If at all possible please call your driver, Steve, on his Thai mobile at +66(0)806911613, or your driver/manager Mo, on his Thai mobile 0924231639, when you see Koh Tao is about 15 minutes away, as the boats do not always arrive on time, and there can be a lot of traffic, and no parking at those times. If you are arriving on the Lomprayah ferry, and you miss Steve or Mo when you first get off of the boat, please meet him in front of the 7/11, on the main road, very close to the Lomprayah ferry pier. No matter which ferry you take, if you tell any of the local taxi drivers (waiting for customers at the pier) that you are staying at Monkey Flower, they will most likely help you find Steve or Mo. Steve or Mo will be driving a white Toyota truck, or a brightly colored Suzuki jeep... If there there are any special ways that your driver can recognize you, please let us know... We are looking forward to meeting you! Activities
From my experience, I think you will want to spend as much time on Koh Tao as possible (at Monkey Flower, or elsewhere)... I hear, time and time again, from our guests that they wished they had more time here. Koh Tao is a small island, but it is full of wonderful experiences! There are so many things to do like snorkeling, & SCUBA diving, hiking, or renting a motorbike to explore the many dirt roads and paths around Koh Tao, there is a vibrant night life, and unlike most of Thailand, it is mostly kid safe, and family friendly, with fire dancing and music, BBQ's on the beach... If you can slip away for a late night, there is dancing till dawn, and really good all night parties. There is a flying trapeze adventure that is really fun (I have done it... It's not just for the kids!), there is mini golf, and you can watch a movie on a big screen, while eating your dinner at many of the local restaurants... There are many great choices for cuisine as well, so you can sample wonderful meals, and deserts from around the world. You can rent kayaks, and even shoot guns and practice archery at the shooting range. The true charm of Koh Tao comes from it's people, and though there are some local Thai's that do not share the happy good feelings, most are really nice, and you can meet interesting local expats, and people from around the world. You can take a long tail boat on a day trip around the island, stopping at different snorkeling spots and bays, or visit Koh NangYuan island, which is one of the most photographed beaches in the world, with a very rare three islands which are connected by two thin stretches of white sand beach. There are charter sail boats, and other water sports, as well as fishing adventures, you can jump off the big boulders into the deep warm water, or go abssailing on a rock climbing adventure... Really, it is a special island, and the longer you stay, the more you love it!
