Getting here

There are many options for landing in Madagascar (normally, without COVID) and the most common are flying into and starting your tour in either Antananarivo (code TNR), or Nosy Be (code NOS). Other airports that also have international flights are Fort Dauphin in the south east (code FTU), and the Island of Sainte Marie (Nosy Boraha - code SMS) on the east coast.

Food & Drink

We recommend accommodation is always booked on a bed and breakfast basis only. To prepay hotel meals is expensive, you need to book the "menu" of three courses, when really after a long day of travel, you may be exhausted and just want a salad and an early night. Lunches are often spent on the road, or at the beach near your hotel, so, we find that for most people, just prepaying breakfast only is the most convenient option. We offer a guide to meals and costs of food and tipping, when you book with us, to help you plan how much pocket-money you need.

Getting around town

We provide comfortable 4x4 vehicles for all tours around Madagascar unless you are only going to be on city roads, in which case, a smaller town car will suffice. Our tours are always chauffeured, it is unusual in Madagascar to self-drive, due to the bad roads. Our drivers are all English-speaking and qualified and licensed tour guides, so, you will have someone along for the journey who can help you to understand the eye-opening scenes and sights of any journey through the Malagasy countryside. Our drivers also assist you with check-in at your hotels upon arrival in each new location, help carry your bags, buy your entry tickets to parks, negotiate to get you the best local guides at National Parks, they are your support.
