Getting here
1. Drive out of Bulawayo on the Plumtree Road (A7). Go through the toll gate. 2. Proceed through Figtree town, approximately 20km after Figtree there is a big cell phone tower on the left, turn left into the Sundown Estate turnoff. 3. Go through the cattle grid/dip. Immediately after this, there is a gate on your left - go through the gate (please open and close the gate behind you). 4. Continue straight on this dirt road, it will take you across a small dam wall. Keeping on this road, you will go through one more gate (please open and close the gate behind you). Continue on this same road. 5. Approximately 3.2 km’s after the gate, the dirt road comes to a Y junction, take the right fork. 6. Continue to the next fork, take the left fork and follow this road - it goes up and through a rocky outcrop and onto the top of a granite dwala (rock), bear slightly left as you drive down to the car park - welcome to Shashani Matobo Hills

What to do while you're here
The game reserve boasts of mainly plains game with a healthy population of the threatened rhino. One can enjoy a game drive or take a morning stroll to a historical bin site or visit ancient rock paintings pre-historically done by the Khoisan.
