Sumatra Ecoventures is a partnership of English - Indonesian. Louise the founder, has a MSc in Conservation Ecology and much experience in field research, particularly Orangutans. Heri her partner is a certified local guide with many years experience in hospitality and jungle guiding. We have a team of local certified guides which care about the animals that live in the jungle. We provide provide unqiue adventures and tour in North Sumatra exploring the local nature, culture and traditions.

Founder/Admin
Louise is the founder of Sumatra EcoVentures. She has a degree in Animal Behaviour and Conservation Ecology. Her mission is to make travel in North Sumatra sustainable, eoc-friendly and support local people and communities. Louise is also an experienced traveler around Asia and knows what tourists want.
Iyan
Local guide
Iyan, uncle of Heri is a local guide. He knows the local environment very well. He is very knowledgeable about the tree, medicinal plants and can easily search and spot a wild Orangutan.

Certified guide
Arif has been a guide for many years. He's very knowledgeable about the jungle and happy to share his knowledge. He's very enthusiastic to learn new things

What to do while you're here
North Sumatra is an amazing place to explore. Local to use you can hike to see Orangutans and other wildlife, visit a bat cave, explore the hidden forest and cave systems, or join a village tour to see local traditions and village life.
