Closest airport is Bucharest (OTP). Other possible airports are Sibiu and Cluj Napoca. We can meet and greet you at the respective airport. If you are driving from Bucharest, you have to pass through Braşov in the direction of Târgu Mureş until you reach the E60 and Măieruș. At Măieruș you leave the E60 and head towards Apața, after which you cross the railway and the new bridge over the river Olt on your right. You will cross Aita Mare and its old iron bridge aand finally arrive at Miklósvár / Micloșoara. Pass the white church and go down the hill, to your right you will see a large wooden gate in front of a large white house, no. 186. Park in the backyard via the little street behind the house. Driving from Târgu Mureș or Sighișoara on the road E60 pass through Saschiz – Rupea – Măieruș. At Măieruș follow the directions above to Miklósvár / Micloșoara.

ostly from local ingredients as available. Menus are set for every day of the week and no choice 'à la carte' is possible. They reflect the customary cooking of the different Transylvanian ethnicities (Romanian, Hungarian, Saxon). Special requests and dietary requirements must be specified in advance. During the day, picnics and barbecues will be served on the walks and rides. We try to source and produce locally as much food as possible for our guests. We have our own vegetable gardens. We breed the rare ‘Transylvanian Black Bare-Necked’ chicken. Eggs, milk, yoghurt, cheeses and honey come from local sources. All jams and preserves are prepared in our kitchens. The two-course lunches and three-course dinners are prepared as of old by the cooks who have been passing down the recipes for generations. We also cater for vegetarians or special dietary requests. During tours, lunch is provided at a restaurant or in the form of a picnic (if you are in the countryside ). We offer an exhaustive list of fine Romanian wines à la carte. Dinner is usually served as ‘table d’hôte’ in the common dining rooms. The evenings have often been praised as a continuous dinner party and a stay at the guesthouses as if you were transported into the novels of Tolstoy or Banffy and had come to visit friends in the countryside.
Laundering and ironing are available at a reasonable fee.

Activities
1. Visit the restored Kálnoky Castle which is home to the Museum of Transylvanian Life. Now, it is among the few places in Transylvania managed by the same family that gave it its name, meaning it represents a story of over four centuries, but one that is still very much alive. 2. Horse and cart ride Explore the beautiful surroundings of Miklosvár by horse and cart. We will drive through this picturesque landscape of hills and valleys, wildflower meadows and forests. Local people can be seen working on their lands, using traditional methods and tools long forgotten in the western world. You will have views on the string of villages aligned along the river Olt that flows through the valley. Picnic / barbecue at lunch in a picturesque spot. 3.Village day at Miklósvár (Micloșoara) Walking is the best way to discover a new area. You will venture off from the manor park into the hills surrounding the village. Take along a walking stick available at the guesthouse, and binoculars to watch birdlife. According to the season you will find many wild flowers including orchids in spring, mushrooms in the forest in summer and autumn, and wild animal tracks in the winter snow.
