Getting here

By Road Follow the M5 to the end of the motorway just past Exeter. The dual carriage way forks at Junction 31, Stay in the right-hand lanes, sign posted A38 and A380 to Plymouth & Torquay. Just after the Kenn Ford Services, the road forks again. This time take the Left Fork sign posted A380 Torquay & Paignton. Continue forward onto Besigheim Way, stay in the right-hand lane and pass over the flyover at Penn Inn, Newton Abbot. Continue along the South Devon Link road, stay in the two right hand lanes when you get to the main traffic lights, turn right onto Hamelin Way. At the next, Gallows Gate roundabout, go straight across onto Hellevoetsluis Way. At the Five Lanes roundabout turn left onto Preston Down Road (signposted Occombe Farm and Preston), follow the road all the way to the bottom of the hill to the traffic lights. Continue straight across, into Seaway Road following it under the railway bridge around to the right along Marine Drive and onto Esplanade Road. The Commodore is at the Far (Southern end) of Esplanade Road, just before the harbour. Go past the large white Apollo Cinema complex on the left and take the right turn opposite the Pirates Bay Crazy Golf, into Adelphi Road. Turn left in front of the terrace of properties and park in the car park directly in front of The Commodore. By Rail or Bus The rail and bus station are only a 5 min walk from the hotel. On leaving the Bus or rail stations, walk in the direction of the town centre and the level crossing. Take the right turn over the level crossing on Torbay Road, follow the road down to a crossroads with The Grand Central and Henry’s Bar on the right-hand side. Turn left into Queens Road, away from The Grand Central and Henry’s Bar, follow the road until you get to The Rugby club, turn left down Adelphi Road and before getting to the end of the road, you cross over Adelphi Lane and then turn right in front of the rank of multi coloured sea front properties. The Commodore is the 2nd building on the right.

Reception

We operate a contactless checking system, you will receive a code and keysafe letter on the day prior to your arrival, via email and on the day of arrival via text message to your registered mobile phone. Then you can arrive anytime from 16:00 hrs, even if you are late you will still be able to get in.

Food & Drink

We provide a full shared kitchen facility with fridge, hobs, microwaves, toasters and kettles for guests to use during their stay as well as, complimentary breakfast items, such as bread, butter, margarine, porridge, cereals, milk, yoghurts, fruit juice, jams and marmalade.

Laundry

There are no laundry facilites on site, a laundarette is about 5 min drive away.

Getting around town

We are right on the sea front, just 5 min walk from Paignton Town centre, main line railway station, main bus station, shops, restaurants, bars and cafes.

We have over 17 year experience in the hospitality industry and are passionate about giving our guests a relaxing chilled break. The Commodore is run by Stuart and Katrina Lewton and Stuart's son Jack. We are on call to help throughout your stay, offering Self-catering en-suite rooms with shared kitchen and dining facilities so that you are not tied to set meal times and can do what you like when you like.

There is plenty to do in Paignton and it's surrounding area, from Paignton Zoo, the steam railway to Kingswear, historic houses, castles, theme parks and numerous other great attractions all within easy reach either walking, by car or by local transport.
