Our Story
El Amargal is a unique place in the region. It was born in 1990 as a place dedicated to scientific research for the conservation of biodiversity and natural resources, in the Gulf of Tribugá. Its owner, Mr. Yasmin Martínez Córdoba, is native from Arusi, the Afro community closest to El Amargal Natural Reserve. Visiting El Amargal, you not only have the opportunity to discover the paradisiacal place in which we are located, but also have access to experiences in nature enriched with the biological knowledge generated throughout our trajectory of scientific work. At the same time, you become a protector of nature and culture, supporting a local conservation proyect.
El Amargal is a family run proyect. We are a couple, Nicole Dubor as administrator and Jazz Martínez Córdoba as director. We live at the Reserve, Jazz from 1992 and Nicole from 2019. The reason for creating El Amargal is that we love nature. We deeply beleive this is the way someone can have the best quality of life, having a close relationship with nature. You are welcome to El Amargal!!!
