Our Story

Krog's Kamp on the Kenai River

Krog's Kamp started over 40 years ago as a weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of Anchorage. Originally, there were 5 partners but eventually over time the other four partners decided to sell out leaving just Bob and Mel Krogseng. The Krogsengs loved the Kenai River and all the activities that were available in the area and they decided to sell their Anchorage home and move to the Kenai River. After a very few years, they decided to turn the kamp into a business. They built cabins and chalets to accommodate 40-50 people. Bob was a retired Air Force officer having flown in F101s and F4s and Mel was a former Air Force Flight Nurse so there many stories to share with guests who came from around the world. Today, Krog's Kamp is well known as one of the premier fishing resorts in the area.9
