Our Story

Gehlen House Inn

The Gehlen House Inn is a beautiful historic building on the historic register, with the oldest barn in Iowa located behind the inn. The property has been recently renovated and the barn houses a tap room with live music on the weekends, wonderful outside seating areas, and inviting interactions with local residents. The sunsets from the deck are amazing. The community strives to keep the Luxembourg heritage alive and there is great pride in the family history in the area. The location is convenient to many local attractions, close to the Mississippi river and within easy driving of quaint towns and unique places to visit. Nestled in the driftless area of the United States, the landscape is beautiful, offering many areas to hike and enjoy nature.
