Our Story
chateau d Agel
In a small village at the foot of the Montagne Noire, in the heart of the Minervois, the Château d'Agel was one of the fortified castles that extended the resistance of the vassal lords of the Count of Toulouse at the time of the Albigensian crusade. Your hosts, Martine Ecal-Besse and her husband Jean-Marie, welcome you to this exceptional setting of a residence that has kept its family character over the centuries. In the heart of Languedoc, ten kilometers from Minerve, the Château d'Agel is a superb medieval castle, the oldest part of which dates from the 12th century. Composed of a central building, four towers and a dovecote, it is located in the center of the village. Its two-hectare terraced park, open onto the Cesse valley and the Pech mountain, allows you to walk in peace or cool off in the swimming pool. You can rent it exclusively with your family or friends, organize receptions or seminars there.
