Masala Art

GERMANY Heilbronn Nordbergstraße, 10

I, Vikram Singh was born on April 27, 1982 and grew up in Sonipat, India. Even as a teenager, I had a flair for cooking. My cooking career began in 2005 after I graduated from Bangalore University with my bachelor's degree in hotel management. This excellent base opened doors to many restaurants and hotel kitchens for me. After graduating from university, I started with le-Meridien, Bangalore, as a 'Kitchen Operations Trainee. My job helped me get to know other cultures and eating habits, which was a lot of fun. In the later years I also got a Masters in Business Administration (distance mode). In 2007, I switched to the research and development department of the Knorr brand at the research and development center in Bangalore, India, as an innovation chef. In April 2012 I was transferred to Heilbronn via the internal job advertisement. During this time I gained extensive knowledge of consumer behavior and market trends. In my early days in Heilbronn, I already felt the need for an authentic Indian restaurant in this city as well as the interest in Indian food and culture. In order to find out more about consumer behavior and expectations, I started to hold cooking courses at VHS in Heilbronn. I worked as a caterer in and around Heilbronn. Due to the relocation of Unilever's global research and development from Heilbronn to Wageningen (NL), I ended my employment on October 31, 2019. Since I had been working on my idea of becoming self-employed for several years now, the time had come to implement my plans. My wife Harpreet Kaur was an important partner in my project planning. My wife had already supported me in my plans in 2017 and encouraged me to take this courageous step. She obtained a master's degree in computer applications in India and later achieved level C1 in German at the VHS in Heilbronn. We knew this was going to be a challenge, but we were all prepared to face the challenges ahead. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who have helped us with their expertise in various areas. The Masala Art has been open since February 18, 2020 and we are ready to show you the diversity of authentic Indian cuisine.
