We sail the most pristine part of the Garden Route, a coastal stretch that runs from the Outeniquas to the Tsitsikamma Mountain range, of which Knysna is the heart. A town situated on the shores of a protected natural basin guarded by two huge geological formations known as the Knysna Heads. The Knysna Basin forms a perfect lake like estuary, a natural bay, and is home to our sailing vessels with the Knysna heads being our passageway to the warmer Indian Ocean. This phenomenon must be one of the most striking natural geographical features along the entire Southern African coastline. Views along this jagged edged coast include small hidden beaches bordered by indigenous fynbos and weathering sandstone formations, that have, through time, created alluring picturesque coves and mysterious stone caverns. To complete it all, the line of forests and the blue mountains in the distance create the perfect backdrop for this remarkable vista. Our Story
Ocean Sailing Charters
We are a family-owned and operated business based in Knysna, driven by a team of passionate sailors, hosts and marine enthusiasts who pour their love of travel, sailing, good food and wine into every cruise. We operate intimate-group catamarans and yachts (maximum 12 guests per vessel) from Thesen Island, offering a unique sailing experience through the stunning Knysna Lagoon, the iconic Knysna Heads and out into the Indian Ocean. Our crew is experienced, friendly and dedicated — from skippers deeply knowledgeable about local waters to hosts who ensure every guest is welcomed and looked after. Our founder Neil Van Deventer has an intuitive relationship with the water that can best be described as sacred; a passion that shapes our philosophy to "Sail fast, live slow." We offer pleasure with a purpose, in paradise of course. Whether you’re here for a scenic day sail, a romantic sunset cruise, or a tailor-made private charter with paddle-boarding, swimming, snorkeling, or onboard entertainment — we deliver luxury, comfort, flexibility and genuine hospitality. Our Activities
Neil is incredibly passionate about sailing and marine conservation. He loves to share his knowledge and love for the ocean and our area with those that join on charters. As a skipper he is cool, calm and collected and knows his way around this coastline. He loves to entertain and most guests will leave as friends! He leads a team of energised, world-class crew to provide a truly unique curated experience.
