Our Story
Manya Africa Tours Limited
The owner of Manya Africa Tours, Yvonne Hilgendorf, started her journey to Uganda in 2008 for the first time. She lived in different communities in Western Uganda which are Ruboni village at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains, Bigodi Wetlands in Kibale National Park and Bushara Island on Lake Bunyonyi. She did the research for her diploma thesis and at the same time helped to develop different tourism products with the communities together. She worked for roughly 10 years for different tour companies and hotels in Uganda and helped them to develop into successful tour businesses. Then in January 2019 she decided that it is time to open her own tour company called Manya Africa Tours and brings now back tourists and income to the same communities which are steadily growing. We want you to get to know Africa and will continue with our exciting journey with all of you together to show you the true and unique aspects of Uganda and other East African countries.
