Our Story
Libelula Lounge & Lodgings
Boasting five private rooms, a large lagoon-style pool, tropical gardens, an outdoor lounge, board games, a ping pong table and a poolside bar and restaurant serving freshly prepared, healthy meals and delicious cocktails, Libélula is the perfect place for you to have a memorable group stay. A complimentary breakfast is included each morning and we can cook bespoke meals for your group at our in-house restaurant. If you prefer to go out, you will find many local bars, restaurants, supermarkets and Playa Potrero within a ten minute stroll. We offer a full concierge service and can arrange airport shuttles, onward travel and local activities such as sunset cruises, wildlife spotting, surf lessons, horse riding, fishing, massages and ATV tours. We can help you plan your tailor-made group holiday. We pride ourselves on making guests feel like part of our family and creating a unique, chilled vibe at our intimate and artistic boutique resort. We have two traditional rancho rooms and three luxury safari tents and can sleep a maximum of 20 people. We created Libélula from the heart, driven by a love for design, nature, art, food and people. Our ethos is to respect our planet and our wildlife and to care about our neighbours and our community. We protected the mature trees in our garden to encourage wildlife, to create a shady oasis and to provide us with native fruits. We upcycled many of the materials we found on the property to make unique design features such as handcrafted lamps, recycled furniture, bespoke beds, upcycled tables and homemade games. We support Costa Rican artists and our rooms showcase local talent from paintings and canvases to artisan masks from the indigenous Boruca tribe. We have made Libélula our home in paradise and we are proud and excited to share our family-run resort with you. Pura Vida!
